So many network marketers have gotten caught up in the world of Facebook, myself included. There is no doubt that Facebook is a gold mine when it comes to marketing, however it is not the only way to build a business.
I’ve spent some time re-evaluating my own business and have come to the conclusion that I need to make some changes. One such change is that I will be spending much less time on Facebook.
Zig Ziglar stated, “Lack of direction, not lack of time, is the problem. We all have twenty-four hour days.” I plan on making my daily allotment of hours as productive as possible and while my messenger will be on most of the time if you need me, I will be busy with other activities.
I love working from home and I love keeping up with everyone on FB, however, it is also a huge time sucker for me. Checking in a couple times a day is more than enough to do my marketing activities and keep relationships alive. Honestly, if we have zero relationship other than on FB, we need to work on that! Ask me for my OTHER contact details. I am a real person, not just a Facebook account!
I refuse to be a slave to a social media platform. I began my work from home journey because I wanted to have more time and freedom to live my life, not to be chained to the computer all day. And while I will still do a lot of my work on my computer, the time spent doing so will be radically reduced just by limiting my Facebook time.
Yes, you’ll still see my posts, I will still see yours when I log in. But, honestly, a lot of what I share will be scheduled – GASP! It does not mean it isn’t heart-felt. What it means is that I have thought about what I want to share with you and when. It means that I care about you, but I also care about myself, my family and my business.
Automating your business is a good thing! Automating your Facebook posts is part of that. Do you really think your Internet Marketing idols are sitting at their computer or staring at their phones all day? No, they are building their businesses in other ways and they are out living their lives.
And that is exactly what I am going to do.
I see posts all the time about ‘If you’re going to be on Facebook all the time anyway, at least get paid for it!“. But, really… do you WANT to be on Facebook all day, every day? Or do you want the time and monetary freedom to go live your LIFE?
I’m betting you don’t want to be an entrepreneur so you can be on Facebook all day. Or at least I HOPE that’s not what you want to do with your life! There’s a whole other world out there! That’s where life really is! And guess what – people were entrepreneurs LONG before Facebook became the network marketing jungle that it is today.
Did you know that you can go outside and talk to people face to face? You can start conversations, build relationships and create an honest to goodness work from home income ‘old school’!
HOLY SHIZZ, Batman! Imagine that!
There’s nothing wrong with building your business with Facebook or other social media platforms, I’m all for it! Just don’t allow that ONE marketing strategy to take over your life.
Live, Love and Rock your life to the fullest! Even if it means logging off of your Facebook account once in a while!
